SMT Data is a successful software solutions and services company based in Denmark.

SMT Data has ridden a wave of success for many years, evident by the fact that some of the world’s largest companies have become customers of SMT Data. Despite this, the board decided in 2018 to reinvent ourselves, with a focus on leveraging our success to develop as a company and position ourselves for where we want to be in 10 years. We started by listening to our customers’ needs concerning our ITBI solution. From this, we defined our vision and identified the areas/details we needed to focus on to meet even the most complex and far-reaching customer demands.

We have worked on this ambitious plan for almost five years, building a business platform that enabled our expansion and helped us pursue our ambition of becoming a leading global provider.

Our vision is to deliver a capacity, performance, and cost management Software as a Service (SaaS) solution, with a strong emphasis on quality, speed, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness, comparable to industry giants like SAP, Salesforce, ServiceNow, and Microsoft Office 365.

To bring this vision to life, we have developed a solution featuring a unique user interface, advanced business mapping, cost allocation, AI integration, and strict compliance with cybersecurity standards—initiatives inspired by our customers’ needs.

Our substantial investment in this vision has propelled us far ahead of our competitors. The results have been outstanding. In 2023, our revenue growth reached 49.5%, and we expect similar growth in the coming years. Among our clients are some of the world’s largest companies, and our pipeline includes many more well-known global enterprises.

To fuel our ambition, we have built an organization with a team of dedicated and highly skilled employees—some of the sharpest talents in the market. Our young, dynamic management team, led by CEO Mads Ehlers Rasmussen since 2022, drives this forward-thinking approach.

Mads Ehlers Rasmussen

Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Mads Ehlers Rasmussen joined the SMT Data management team in December 2020. Mads holds a Master of Science in Business Administration and Computer Science.

Nicklas Laine Overgaard

Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Nicklas Laine Overgaard has been part of the SMT Data management team since 2024. Nicklas has a Double Degree in Security and Mobile Computing and is a technological realist, software architect and obstacle course racer.

Tina Auerbach

Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Tina Auerbach joined SMT Data in September 2022. Tina has more than 25 years of all-round expertise in financial management, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and process optimization. Her experience is mainly from multinational Professional Services Companies.

Nils Kierkegaard

Chairman of the Board

Nils Kierkegaard has been part of SMT Data’s management since 2009, and is Chairman of the Board of Directors. Nils has more than 30 years of experience from executive positions within the IT industry.

Jørgen Lund

Member of the Board

Jørgen Lund is one of the co-Founders of SMT Data. Jørgen has more than 30 years from a wide variety of mainframe installations and is specialized in installation, support, and managed operations for SMT Data products.

Erik Westergaard

Member of the Board

Erik Westergaard is the founder and former CEO of SMT Data. Erik has more than 40 years of experienced work in the IT industry with focus on capacity planning and performance management.

Jan Vilstrup

Member of the board

Jan Vilstrup joined the SMT Data management team in 2008. With a past in Sun Microsystems, StorageTek, SiliconGraphics (SGI), Kodak and MicroAge he holds a solid experience within international Sales and Management.
