SMT Data will present at GSUK2025
How to become a Formula 1 racing star. It is all about Performance
SMT Data is pleased to announce that Kim Mortensen and Gabriel Guth-Kaltschmied will present their session “How to become a Formula 1 racing star. It is all about Performance.” at the GSUK Conference 2025 in November.
The session was originally presented at the Wavez Spring 2025 event, where it received great feedback for its creative and engaging approach to IT performance management. Drawing parallels between Formula 1 racing and enterprise IT performance, Kim and Gabriel explore how precision, speed, and teamwork determine success – both on the racetrack and in the data center.
Following its positive reception earlier this year, we look forward to presenting the session again at GSUK – giving a new audience the opportunity to experience its unique combination of storytelling, humor, and technical insight.
If you are attending GSUK 2025, make sure not to miss this session – it promises to deliver both inspiration and practical perspectives on performance and continuous improvement in IT.
Presentation information:
Date: Wednesday, November 5th
Time: 14.30-15.15

Abstract:
A Mainframe is like a Formula 1 car. It only performs at its best, if well-tuned. And well-tuned means the sum of all the components that make up to car.
The same is true for a Mainframe system – so let’s have a look at the different components that makes up a Mainframe system and how we can tune them. Let’s also discover the relation between Capacity, Performance and Billing model and how it impact our tuning path
At the end of the session, you will get the opportunity for a prize on the Workload Manager Race if you play your cards right.
