SMT Data and our value adding partners also provide a number of services to ensure that you get maximum value out of your ITBI solution. Not only do we operate the ITBI solution for you, the performance and capacity experts also evaluate the performance and capacity characteristics of your z/OS and servers system on an ongoing basis. These services typically include implementation, operation, managed service, education, and customization.

ITBI as a Service (ITBIaaS)

Objectives:

  • Ongoing provisioning and managed operations of ITBI in a cloud environment

Activities:

  • Provisioning of cloud environment (Amazon EC2)
  • Daily check of data collection
  • Defect analysis and resolution
  • Ongoing software updates to latest version

Timeline:

  • Ongoing service

Managed Services

Objectives:

  • Ensure the customer gets ongoing value from ITBI through capacity and performance optimization

Activities:

  • Ongoing monitoring:
  • General capacity and performance of customer infrastructure
  • Customer specific reporting requirements (e.g. related to customer KPIs or billing models)
  • Regular meeting with presentation of findings and recommendations

Timeline:

  • Ongoing service

Audits

Objectives:

  • Identify opportunities for optimization and cost savings in the customer’s environment

Activities:

  • Planning Meeting
  • Data collection
  • Analysis
  • Develop recommendations
  • Validate recommendations
  • Final presentation

Timeline:

  • 4-6 weeks

Extending & Customizing

Objectives:

  • Assist the customer in getting maximum value from the ITBI solution short term and long term

Proof of Value

Objectives:

  • Identify cost reduction opportunities

Implementation (Cloud)

  • Provide customer with access to standard (out of the box) technical reporting

Activities:

  • Planning
  • Set up Cloud Server
  • Install Collector (Servers)
  • Set up daily transfer of data from customer to Cloud
  • Training

Timeline:

  • 3-4 days once prerequisites are in place

Implementation (Customer Environment)

Objectives:

  • Provide customer with access to standard (out of the box) technical reporting

Activities:

  • Planning
  • Customer provides prerequisite servers and access
  • Install ITBI on Customer servers
  • Set up daily transfer of data from z/OS to Servers
  • Training

Timeline:

  • 5-10 days once prerequisites are in place
